Cherryhurst House and Project B featured in PaperCity Magazine

October PaperCity MagBarrelhouse Media clients Cherryhurst House and Project B were featured in this month’s issue of PaperCity Magazine, highlighting the home’s unique style and concept while also taking note of its current artists-in-residence Project B (a collaboration between artists Barbara Levine and Paige Ramey). PaperCity writer Catherine Anspon spent an afternoon with the duo as they searched for vintage vernacular photography at resale shops in Houston.

Alba Huerta and Josh Martinez Team Up for “Art of the Cocktail at Cherryhurst House”

Alba-Huerta-main-imageHOUSTON – Julep owner Alba Huerta and The Chicken Ranch co-owner Josh Martinez will team up for “Art of the Cocktail at Cherryhurst House,” an evening devoted to blending cocktails, food and art into an immersive experience. It will take place at Cherryhurst House, an innovative new art space in Montrose, on Thursday October 16th from 6:30-9pm.

Limited to an intimate group of 20, participants will have the opportunity to create three different cocktails under Huerta’s instruction that she has chosen specifically for the location, including a special Cherryhurst Cobbler. Continue reading

HOUSTON (March 3, 2014) – Showing in Houston for the first time during the 2014 FotoFest Biennial, San Francisco-based Project B will present their solo exhibition Camera Era: Freeze Frames from a World Long Gone opening to the public on March 19th at The Raven Grill—1916 Bissonnet St. Co-founded by artists Barbara Levine and Paige Ramey, PROJECT B specializes in the collecting, preservation and publishing of vintage photographs made by unknown photographers. They combine unusual artistic and curatorial practices to their archive of found photos to create one of a kind books and large format pigment prints.
